Privacy Policy
Beyond Buckets is a basketball training app. It helps players track games and shooting, get AI feedback on their shooting form, complete drills, and build streaks and levels. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices parents have.
Who this app is for
Beyond Buckets is designed so that a parent or guardian creates the account, and children use the app through the parent's account. We do not let children under 13 create their own accounts. Players 13 and older may create their own. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent given through the parent's account. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account on their own, contact us and we will delete it.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider), display name, and whether the account is a Parent or Player account.
- Player profile information: for each player, a name, age, position, dominant hand, skill level, jersey number and color, and a friend code. We do not ask for a child's email, phone number, home address, school, or precise location.
- Activity and training data: game stats, shooting sessions, drill completions, saved drills, basketball IQ answers and scores, XP, levels, streaks, and missions.
- Shot videos and analysis results: videos a player chooses to record or upload for shot analysis, the camera angle and shooting hand selected, and the AI-generated scores and feedback.
- Friend connections: if a player adds a friend using a friend code, we store that connection. Friends can see only limited leaderboard statistics (name, jersey, level, XP, streak, IQ score, and shot makes). Friends cannot see videos, games, or any other data. There is no messaging or free-text communication between users.
- Technical information: basic diagnostic information needed to run and secure the service, such as error logs.
The app may ask for access to your camera, microphone, and photo library so you can record or choose shot videos. These are used only for that purpose.
How we use information
- To operate the app and show a player their own stats and progress
- To generate AI shooting-form feedback and recommend drills
- To power leaderboards among friends a player has chosen to connect with
- To keep the service secure, fix bugs, and prevent abuse (for example, daily limits on video analysis)
We do not sell personal information. We do not use children's information for advertising, and the app does not show third-party ads.
Who we share information with
We use service providers who process data on our behalf to run the app:
- Supabase hosts our database, authentication, and file storage, including shot videos.
- Google (Gemini API): when a shot video is analyzed, the video is sent to Google's Gemini AI service to produce feedback, under Google's Gemini API terms. We delete the video from Google's file storage as soon as the analysis finishes.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect safety.
Videos
Shot videos are stored in a private storage area that only the account owner can access. Videos are deleted when the player or the account is deleted.
Parent and guardian rights
A parent or guardian can at any time:
- Review the information on their child's profile inside the app.
- Delete a child's profile (Profile tab, choose the player, Delete Player), which permanently removes that child's stats, videos, and progress.
- Delete the entire account (Profile tab, Delete Account), which permanently removes the account and all player data, videos, and friend connections.
- Contact us at support@ottopros.com to ask questions, request access to or deletion of information, or withdraw consent to further collection.
Data retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as the account exists. When an account or player is deleted in the app, the associated data and videos are deleted. Copies may remain in encrypted backups maintained by our infrastructure provider for a limited period before they are overwritten.
Security
We use access controls so each account can reach only its own data, private storage for videos, and encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where required, notify parents.
